In 2018, the history workshop on the neighborhoods of La Bomba, Can Pi, and La Cadena continues!

Starting next Thursday, January 18, at 6 PM, we are resuming this open space at the Bellvitge-el Gornal Cultural Center for all former residents of these neighborhoods who want to share their memories and organize to recover and disseminate their history.

Some of the actions we propose for this year 2018, in which you can get involved and contribute your knowledge, are:

· Online archive of the informal neighborhoods of L’Hospitalet: you can contribute your photographs and documents, digitize them, and organize them so that they can be consulted on a website that collects the history of your neighborhood.

· Exhibition at the
L’Hospitalet History Museum
in 2018: dedicated to the so-called shantytowns of the city. Come and decide on the contents and format of this unprecedented exhibition in the city.

· Monument to the neighborhood of La Bomba: From the History Workshop of La Bomba, Can Pi, and La Cadena comes the proposal to place a water pump (that works!) in the old location of the neighborhood (currently the Gran Via 2 area). Come and organize the citizen campaign to promote the installation of this memorial.

· CICdB newsletters: The CICdB newsletters (of which 3 issues have already been published) collect the history of families from La Bomba, Can Pi, and La Cadena told by themselves. Come and propose to tell yours.

· 2nd edition of La Sardinada: A festive and community gathering in which to reunite with your former neighbors and keep the memory of the neighborhood alive.

Every Thursday, from 6 to 8 PM at the Bellvitge-el Gornal Cultural Center.

The Workshop is also open to all those people (neighbors or not) interested in the memory of the informal city. We are waiting for you!
