The DocuEspaiDer docu-fiction workshop, organized by the youth association
EspaiDer3*
and
LaFundició
at the La Bòbila Cultural Center in L’Hospitalet, will begin next May 16. DocuEspaiDer is not only a training activity, but also a proposal to create a documentary about the haphazard history of the project and its precarious physical headquarters, in collaboration with its own protagonists. Thus, DocuEspaiDer is a means for the “uninitiated” to learn the basic techniques of video and at the same time an opportunity for those interested in the documentary genre to participate in the collective creation of a docu-fiction, from the first idea of the script to the final editing.
As part of the workshop program, a film screening series open to the public will be organized to discuss and explore the boundaries between documentary and fiction. We also hope to have the special collaboration of an invited documentary author, yet to be confirmed.
Not counting the Customization Workshop, DocuEspaiDer is the first public activity of the EspaiDer3* association, which “fills us with pride and satisfaction” and we also believe that it constitutes a way of rehearsing collective processes in which education and artistic practice are inextricable, and where ‘authorship’ and ‘authority’ can be decentralized in a collective process of knowledge construction without the knowledge of the different participants being hierarchized in advance.
