
With the aim of enabling community self-organization processes and strengthening the neighborhood’s ecosystem, it is home to the La Florida Residents’ Association (Associació de Veïns i Veïnes de La Florida) and the La Florida Urban Commonality (La Florida s’aveïna), and hosts, among other initiatives, the La Florida Neighborhood Support Network. Comunalitats Urbanes is a program by the Department of Business and Labor of the Government of Catalonia (Generalitat de Catalunya) to boost local economies in neighborhoods and cities, strengthen urban common goods, and promote new mutual aid projects with the support of local residents, businesses, and associations. La Florida s’aveïna is driven by the cooperatives Keras Buti, Les Juntes, Cuidem amb cor, and the La Florida Residents’ Association (AViV Florida).
Pomezia embraces the memory of the territory and takes up the name of the old Pomezia school that stood in a self-built barracks in the square, a few meters from the current community space.
