loLABS
Processes

loLABS aimed to test the possibilities of new technologies by inserting them into specific social contexts and juxtaposing and remixing them with other technological knowledge: low-tech, traditional, obsolete and/or hidden: neighbors playing role-playing games with figures made on the neighborhood’s 3D printer, flamenco dancers experimenting with Valdelomarian tactile vision… The network was an initiative of LaFundició, Salah Malouli and FAAQ, who respectively coordinated the nodes in Bellvitge, Casablanca and Granada.

loLABS Bellvitge began its public activity with a 3D printer assembly workshop with the Free Software Group of Navarra. The project joined the collaboration with the Necronomicon’s association of L’Hospitalet in the creation of a role-playing game about the history of Bellvitge, in relation to the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the neighborhood in 2015. It was proposed that the game have a live and a table version, whose game pieces would be manufactured with the 3D printer of loLABS Bellvitge.
