In 2016, the Department of Labor of the Generalitat de Catalunya promoted the Network of Cooperative Atheneums, with the creation of territorial points throughout Catalonia, to carry out projects to generate employment through the creation of cooperatives and labor companies, within the framework of the aracoop Program.
Cooperative atheneums are conceived as a space for meeting, coordination, learning and discussion, cooperation and social transformation with common principles: social justice, direct, deliberative and participatory democracy, degrowth and sustainability, equity and solidarity. The entities, both public and private, that are part of these atheneums are local entities, cooperative companies or labor companies, associations and foundations with experience in the field of the project and with the capacity to carry it out, or groups without legal personality.
In 2017, as a result of our participation in the creation of the local node in l’Hospitalet of the Xarxa d’Economia Social de Catalunya, together with other entities in the city, we presented the La Col·lectiva project for the 2017-2018 season in the specific subsidy call. After a pause in the following season, LaFundició returns to La Col·lectiva and will be the leading entity until 2024.
La Col·lectiva is based in L’Espora (calle Llobregat, 66, L’Hospitalet), a space it shares with the Llavors bookstore.
