ZI-3D. The publication
25.4.10

Update: we published ZI-3D on issuu, available for download here.

This Monday, April 26th at 7 p.m. we present ZI-3D (the publication) at the
Espai f
of Mataró. This small journal has been made collectively and, as far as possible, collaboratively, with all those teachers and students who have participated in the third edition of

Zona Intrusa

and who have wanted to contribute and provide materials.

ZI-3D collects part of the work process developed in the classrooms (and outside them) with the students of the seven institutes that have participated in
Zona Intrusa 3
, especially the maps made from the drifts through the public spaces surrounding the institutes; these maps represented and analyzed the information extracted during these drifts about the cultural practices and formations that could be observed in the public space.

The publication also includes the assessment of some of these centers, either personally by their teachers, or as a joint assessment of the respective departments of visual and plastic education. We have also had the assessment of Jesús Nieto, an active collaborator in the project, and a text by Javier Rodrigo in which he reflects on the potential of a “pedagogy of public space“.

But also, and based on the work proposal launched from the “promoter group” of Zona Intrusa, formed by Oriol Fontdevila and LaFundició, the publication includes works by the students of the
Escola FRETA
, made based on their participation in the program’s activities and who have worked in collaboration with us specifically during their visit to the exhibition and later, again, in the classroom.

The main objective of this publication would be to “return” to the territory the representations and knowledge generated by the students of the educational centers; to this end, 5,000 copies of
ZI-3D
have been published and will be distributed free of charge starting tomorrow in educational and cultural centers, neighborhood associations, etc., with which we hope to have a more effective impact, within the possibilities of a program like Zona Intrusa, on the integration of educational processes – understood as the production of discourse – with the public sphere and the territory.
