Intruder Zone 3
In three dimensions!!!

Like swallows,
Zona Intrusa
returns for another year, and this time in 3D, which is the sensation of the moment. Once again, in this third edition, we are collaborating with Oriol Fontdevila in the design and development of the project aimed at secondary education centers in Mataró and organized by the Institut Municipal d’Acció Cultural of this city.
Zona Intrusa 3
aims to contextualize part of the debate that we raised in the previous edition about the modes of valuing art and culture. Together with students and teachers, we want to examine the relationship of the different cultural formations and processes with the territory (with the city, urban planning, public space…). If we also think that education is part of these cultural formations and processes, what is the relationship of educational centers and the processes that take place within them, with the territory in which they are located and with the communities that surround them? And what about the relationship between educational centers and the cultural and artistic practices that take place around them, and more specifically with the cultural practices of their students?
This new edition of Zona Intrusa maintains the traveling exhibition (which this time will be more of a traveling archive) through the institutes of Mataró, although it is divided into two different dynamics: on the one hand, a program of activities in the classrooms that will conclude with a public presentation, open to the environment of each center, on Friday afternoons, and on the other, what we have called a ‘workshop continuous’ in which those teachers and students who wish to participate can participate, both outside and within school hours, in order to design and produce intervention projects in public space.
We have selected three specific cases with the intention of “exemplifying” some of the concepts that are to be addressed in the project. These cases raise different modes of relationship between culture and territory, and the cultural practices of the students themselves should be added to them. The analysis and collective construction of knowledge about these cases, from the educational context, constitutes one of the aforementioned three dimensions of the project. The proposed objects of study are ‘the monument’, ‘the public art project’ and ‘the cultural equipment’; to analyze them we will have the collaboration of Jesus Nieto, art historian, urban planner and neighborhood activist, of the collective of architects

We will soon have the project wiki ready, which we hope to turn this year into a truly effective tool for work and communication with the various participating/collaborating agents in the project. That said, more soon.
