The time is approaching: on Saturday, April 5th, from 11 AM to 1 PM we will play the second scene of
Bellvitge live role-playing
: a group of neighbors meets in the street to talk about the subsidy cuts to the Tin tin Daycare, which could lead to its definitive closure. During the meeting, an unexpected event occurs that will lead to… the boycott of the construction!
Year 1976, the company ICC intends to build 33 new blocks of flats in Bellvitge; the residents demand facilities and services and consider unacceptable the population density that would result from the construction of the new blocks. Under the slogan “Not one more block” various groups and associations have united the struggle; but the indignation is on the street, on edge, among the neighbors, and any spark can ignite the protest!
Come play live role-playing: you can play the role of a neighbor, a construction worker, or a gray-uniformed repressive policeman… Come in costume!
The game will be played on the
Passeig de Bellvitge—known as the one with the pine trees—, 88, L’Hospitalet, in front of the Bernat Metge school
.
Boycott the Construction
refers to a historical moment that is key to understanding the transformations of urban peripheries, and especially to understanding the forms of politicization and subjectivation of the working classes who inhabited them then.
Bellvitge live role-playing
aims to motivate a collective reflection on these issues through the very process of its creation and through the game.
