On Friday, January 23, at 6 p.m., at Cine documental al barri, we will screen the documentary “The True Cost”, directed by Andrew Morgan.
With the documentary film program, Cine al barrio, we bring critical perspectives on the social and environmental realities that permeate our daily lives, among others.
“The true cost” analyzes the global impact of the fashion industry, focusing on working conditions, environmental consequences, and the inequalities that sustain the fast fashion model. Through testimonies from workers, activists, and experts, the documentary connects consumption decisions in the countries of the North with the effects that occur in the territories and bodies of the Global South.
“The True Cost” raises questions about current production and consumption models, about collective responsibility, and about the need to rethink fashion with criteria of social justice, sustainability, and care.
