Tomorrow, December 4th, the exhibition opens at the National Archive in Santiago de Chile.
Collaborative Tapestries & Documentation Tables
organized by Daniela Pizarro and LaFundició, which will showcase the tapestries that were exhibited last March at the Centre Cultural Bellvitge-el Gornal and more recently at the Mercat Municipal de la Florida, along with documentation on the construction of the
UNCTAD III
headquarters, also present in L’Hospitalet. All these materials will be accompanied by new documents about that moment in the recent history of Chile during which the political-cultural project of the Popular Unity was practically developed; as well as documentation of the work processes that Daniela has developed with various groups around the memory of that significant and at the same time forgotten moment of Salvador Allende’s government.
Next to the tapestry
Homage to the collective work of UNCTAD III
you can see the tapestries What will the cities of the future eat? and
Goodbye to the blocks?
, sewn by neighbors from Bellvitge during the residency in the physical space of LaFundició in 2017 by Daniela Pizarro, member of the
Nido Textil
collective, and by the Women’s Group of the Ana Díaz Rico Municipal Center and neighbors from La Florida respectively.
We are very happy that this work can be seen in Chile and we are proportionally sorry that we cannot accompany Dani on this day! Our best wishes to all the people involved in the project!
If you want to know more about Daniela’s residency in the physical space of LaFundició in Prado 11 and about the mentioned exhibitions, you will find them here, here and here.
