Workshop ‘Strategies for Working in the Territory’ at ACVic
12.11.10

Next week, on November 16, 17, 23 and 25, we will be at
ACVic Centre d’Arts Contemporànies
“teaching”, together with Javier Rodrigo, the workshop
Strategies for working in the territory which is
articulated from the edition in Vic of the project
TRANSDUCTORES (which we have already talked about extensively in this blog, due in part to our own involvement in some of the project’s spin-offs, as is the case).

Let’s say that the workshop has a “standard” approach: it wants to talk about “the role of the school, social education and collective pedagogies; intervention in neighborhoods and citizen contexts: the role of development and community mediation, work in public space and sociocultural intervention”; or “the interdisciplinary work of citizen networks or civil society: the articulation of informal networks or social movements and the forms of collaboration, resistance or intervention with respect to the various institutions of society“.

In our opinion, the interesting thing about the matter is that this discussion -and, broadly speaking, we want to propose the workshop as a discussion in which we can all learn from each other- does not take place in entirely speculative terms, but refers to and has some kind of impact on the future lines of work of the ACVic center. This is not something that has suddenly occurred to us -although it could well have- but arises at the proposal of Ramón Parramón, director of the center, who is committed to focusing ACVic’s lines of action on “the relationship between artistic practices, educational activity and social interaction“.

To this end, we have invited some of the workshop attendees who, in this line, have participated in or have been responsible for projects, initiatives or actions in contexts close to the center, to briefly present their experiences and the knowledge they have generated during them. From these presentations we hope to be able to detect, together with the workshop attendees, what are the challenges, difficulties or interests that can be located in the context close to the center; with the intention of working in groups on the design of several proposals for cultural action to work in the territory, counting on ACVic as one more node in the network of agents that would develop them.

We hope the experience will be interesting and enriching for everyone!
