Paved and fenced-in spaces, individual benches in the sun, stoppers that prevent sitting or lying down on benches and other surfaces to rest or chat with neighbors… In cities, it is increasingly common to find examples of hostile urbanism like these. The La Florida neighborhood is no exception. At the same time, the idea that the street is a dangerous place is spreading. The solution offered is private spaces and more police presence, instead of encouraging meeting, use, and enjoyment of public spaces.
If you want the city to be a more habitable place and you are interested in architecture or design, come to the workshop!
We’ll be waiting for you on Thursday, March 14, from 5 to 7 PM at the Ana Díaz Rico Municipal Center (Plaça Blocs Florida, 15B, La Florida)
