From the MunsUva site, we propose a route through the history of Santa Eulàlia, a neighborhood where the site is located and one of the historical centers of L’Hospitalet, born around the 1840s with the growth of Bordeta. The route will take place next Saturday, September 6, starting at 11 in the morning, when we will leave from the church of Santa Eulàlia de Provençana and end at 12:30 p.m. in MunsUva. Manuel Domínguez, a member of the
Centre d’Estudis de L’Hospitalet
, an entity that collaborates on the route together with the
Arxiu Històric Santa Eulàlia Provençana
, will join us. In the words of Manuel Domínguez:
«We will take a tour of a thousand years of history of Santa Eulàlia, starting with the Romanesque church and the rural world, we will remember when it was the great industrial district of the city as an appendage of Sants, and when it was the “neighborhood of the flies” because the seats of the garbage collectors were there; we will see the scene of the strikes and clashes of the gunmen of the unions and the employers and the passageways and the blocks built to welcome migrants for a hundred years».

Once in MunsUva, there will be a brief presentation of this initiative that we are promoting with the desire to open its management—and not only its use—to the neighbors.
Next, we propose a small cartographic exercise with the aim of locating and relating on a map the historical events with the processes, initiatives and social and cultural actors of the neighborhood today.
Both the route and the map may later serve for the collective elaboration of a mural that, in addition to decorating the large walls of the site, will serve to give us a representation of the memory of the neighborhood.
At the end of the day, and after regaining strength during lunch, a general assembly of the site is convened to continue working on its development. As you can see, many processes are underway linked to this space, about which we will give you extensive information shortly.
