To complete this busy week, this Saturday the 30th from 8 PM to 10 PM we will be in one of the debates of the
eme3
festival, which are held in the geodesic dome installed by
Straddle3
in the plaza of the Barcelona Cathedral.
The debate will be moderated by Santi Ibarra and David Juárez, and we will be in the company of a lot of people: from the collectives
LaCol
,
Todo por la Praxis
,
Arquitectura Expandida
,
Recreant Cruïlles
,
Collectif Etc
and Jaume López and Marc Dalmau.
The conversation, which is expected to be between the guests and the public, will start from the festival’s “theme”: which is none other than the bottom-up concept, and more specifically the relationship between networks, processes, and actions. It is very, very well explained on the eme3 website, so we’ll pass you the link here so you can read it if you’re interested, but we would like to highlight here some of the questions that the moderators are asking from there:
«To what extent is the spirit of self-management, which usually inspires the processes of spatial appropriation, compatible with the policies of the administration? What is the real negotiating capacity of collectives and associations? How can this capacity for dialogue be improved? Can non-suspicious terms of negotiation be proposed that somehow aspire to maximums, or are we condemned to perpetual precariousness, both in material means and in temporality or public recognition? What are the indicators to evaluate a bottom-up process, and who is legitimized to apply them? ¿…? »
We also ask ourselves these and a few more questions, so, more than going to answer them, we are going to see if we can all get to the bottom of it.
