Bellvitge live role-playing
is progressing adequately, slowly but surely. Over the past few months, we have been working with the people from the
Necronomicon’s
gaming association on the development of a live role-playing game based on the history of Bellvitge. We already have a fairly elaborate outline of the game’s script and some fairly well-defined main characters.
At this time, we want to open up the work process to other agents: individuals or groups interested in role-playing games or in the history of Bellvitge (or, even better, in both at the same time) who want to collaborate with their knowledge and creativity to improve and expand it.
As we have developed the script for Bellvitge live role-playing, the game is divided into 6 scenes, all located in Bellvitge at different historical moments from 1969, a few years after the start of the construction of the blocks, to a hypothetical future of the neighborhood in the year 2050. The script traces a journey that portrays Bellvitge from the years of Franco’s developmentalism to the dismantling of the welfare state by neoliberal policies, which is clearly exemplified in the closure of the CAP La Marina and its subsequent occupation by the residents.
The story that the game traces stars 6 player characters (PCs) who will evolve throughout the game, accompanied in each scene by different non-player characters (NPCs).
The PCs that we have outlined try to offer a broad range, from a social, cultural, and gender perspective, of the population composition of the neighborhood throughout its history, although there are certainly gaps that should be filled: groups or archetypes that should also be represented and are not… it is something that we can modify among all of us.
In a first installment, we will introduce you to the protagonists of the game and then, in subsequent installments, brief summaries of the scenes that make up the game so far. We invite you again to participate in the collective creation of this game. We are there every Friday from 6 to 8 in the afternoon in the physical space of LaFundició (you can consult the agenda on our website for more information about the work sessions, schedules, address, etc., etc.). See you there!
