On Friday, July 9, at 7 PM, we will screen the film
Can Serra: Conscientious Objection in Spain
(1976) and discuss the conscientious objection movement and anti-militarism in the Spanish state and its connection with neighborhood movements and, specifically, with community initiatives articulated around the House of Reconciliation in Can Serra. A very interesting experience of alliance between social movements and neighborhood movements, and community organization, which today seems to have never existed, but which happened here, in L’Hospitalet, and from which we can learn many things for our contemporary social practices.
With the participation of
Martí Rom
, member of the Cooperativa d’Cinema Alternatiu, director of the film, and Martí Olivella, Pilar Massana and Jesús Vinyes, people linked to the objection movement and the neighborhood and community context of the time in Can Serra.
