Well, it’s official. Yesterday, the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB) announced that the project
Cohabitar entre-
that we have devised between
Idensitat
, LaFundició, Sinapsis and
Transductores
had been selected as the program for the 2016 season of
Fabra i Coats – Centre d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona

For us, this is great news and we are very happy, while it is also a challenge and a responsibility. Since we started our activity as a cooperative (10 years ago now) we have usually worked with and from artistic and cultural institutions, but we have never had the task of programming one (if we exclude our own physical space :D). In addition, we will be working in “the center” after three years of very intense work in the context of Bellvitge and L’Hospitalet, in which we have forged numerous ties and collaborations—with schools, organizations, entities, various institutions, neighbors…—and we have been involved in a large number of social and cultural processes of very diverse scale—starting with the daily micropolitics of coexistence with our neighbors at number 11 Prat Street—. Certainly, the project for Fabra i Coats has a transitory character, with a duration of only 8 months—which is not much to be able to develop work processes rooted in the territory, unhurried and careful, but there is the challenge—so the programming also wants to show other models of artistic and cultural spaces, processes and institutions that can serve as a pre-text to think about the future of Fabra i Coats.
