Des dels Blocs is an open space for collective creation, which includes, among other things, the Editorial Laboratory and is hosted by the Ana Díaz Rico Municipal Center. During the presentation, we explained what we do every Monday in the laboratory and the general topics that appear in the new issue: the current state of the neighborhood movement in Florida and in the city, the situation in Palestine, and the classic opinion columns with a literary section and recipe book.
Sergio Chesán, editor and writer of Horror Vacui, participated in the presentation as a special guest and told us about what cultural work in l’Hospitalet entails, reflecting on the stereotypical image of the peripheries as a cultural desert, when in reality the cultural practices and initiatives in the city are many and very diverse. He also told us about working in an independent publishing house.
The contributors of the issue participated in the presentation to tell us a little more about the topic of their article, such as Joan Font, from the Associació de Veïns i Veïnes Som Santa Eulàlia , players from l’Hospitalet Cricket Club , the Comité LH amb Palestina , or Ramata from AMRA, among others.
Altaveu Jove and AMRA presented the second issue of La Revuelta, which includes their activities, as well as in-depth articles on various subjects written by different young people from Florida and the city.
And with a snack and chat among neighbors, we brought the presentation of Des de ja, La Revuelta… to an end, and we said goodbye until after the summer, when we return to the Editorial Laboratory to prepare the tenth issue! Thank you all for coming, have a good rest in these hot months 🙂 And long live the neighborhood magazines!
