“Death Animations”, 2007 by Brody Condon.
Modification of a performance. Closely linked to previous processes of modification of commercial video games, as well as to the subcultures of live-action fantasy role-playing and performative events that include medieval reenactments, the work is a recreation of the performance by Bruce Nauman “Tony Sinking into the Floor, Face Up and Face Down” from 1973. Performed with a medieval fantasy costume and in slow motion, combining movements that are based on death animations in video games.
