Madrid, Madrid, Madrid
17.11.07

We have the feeling that in Barcelona we tend to fall into a certain navel-gazing and it sometimes seems that it is the only city subjected to the tensions caused by the global flows of the economy, tourism, culture, etc. The vision that one could have of a city like Madrid, for example, is that of a large art market in the most classic sense of the word, where little else happens. Curiously, during this year 2007 we have been able to find a couple of initiatives here that sought to publicize what is happening in the cultural sphere of the capital of Spain:
MadriT: Ins and Outs and Chitterlings
, at the CASM and EmbajadaYP, a project halfway between YProducciones and Los 29 enchufes.

Well, all this comes about because on November 23, the publisher Traficantes de Sueños presents
Madrid ¿The sum of all?
, a study carried out during the last two years by the Observatorio Metropolitano de Madrid (a project that brings together several multidisciplinary groups around the reflection on the urban starting from the Madrid case) that addresses the radical social, urban and economic transformations that the city has suffered in recent years and that have made Madrid one of the main destinations for both migrant movements and transnational flows of capital.
