Yes, come on, let’s get physical! LaFundició goes physical! Since we formed the LaFundició cooperative in 2006, we have been developing our work in many places, here and there like fairground workers or showmen. Throughout this time we have tried to promote cultural and educational processes sensitive to the specificity of the territories in which they were developed, in collaboration with local agents -people, informal groups, collectives, institutions…- but paying attention to the connections and networks that we could establish with practices and contexts outside these territorial areas.

This nomadic condition of ours has, like everything, its peculiarities that, depending on how you look at them, we can value positively or negatively.

But the truth is that for some time now we thought it would be interesting to explore the “horizon of possibilities” that having our own space, a physical space, located in a specific territory, can offer us, and to investigate what processes and collaborations we can be part of in the construction of its cultural and social fabric.

And that’s where we are: before the end of this month of January we will sign the lease for a municipal space located at
number 11 Prat Street
in the neighborhood of
Bellvitge
(L’Hospitalet). It is a unique space: a small 70m² semi-basement in one of the characteristic apartment blocks of Bellvitge that, initially, we will share with the association
CandeL’Hart
and with the artist and seamstress
Jess Espinoza
.

We are already devising several initiatives with which we are excited and about which we will inform you promptly and shortly in this same blog, and to which we invite you to participate from now on: several community experimentation and creation projects and a community experimentation laboratory with technologies (new and old).

For the moment we do not plan to organize any opening party, we will start working and if necessary, we will do it later 😀 In any case we will love to receive your visit and we invite you to know and participate in this new journey.
