The One and the Many in which we are participating, showing part of the work processes of the Canal Canatun
project.
Curated by Pedro Soler, the exhibition includes some works by Egyptian and Catalan artists who have participated in exchanges between artistic production centers on both sides of ‘the Mediterranean basin’.
Canal Canatun is in full swing. As you can see, we have already made public the project’s website, which will collect the notebooks and videos made by the girls and boys participating in the activities of the Artellewa center in Cairo and the girls and boys from the
El Martinet
school in Ripollet. The website is actually a site in progress, to which content will be added as it is generated; initially, we hope to have ready for tomorrow the videos made by the girls and boys of El Martinet, in which they have been working during the last weeks, as well as some other material that was recorded in Cairo.
Canal Canatun is structured as a collaborative investigation around cultural identities, based on representation and research around the daily use of public and domestic spaces. The result of this research should serve to think, define, and realize the contents of a television channel that collects and relates the study carried out by the children of the
We started all this work at the end of last year in Cairo, thanks to the exchange grant between
CAN Farrera
and
Artellewa
. Here we made a brief chronicle of the experience.
As you can see on the website of the city council of Barcelona, the exhibition is accompanied by some parallel activities that may be of your interest; to begin with, tomorrow, during the inauguration, there will be a concert by Ehab Abd Al-Latif. If you come, we’ll see you 😉
