As the KRAX explain:The creation workshops on c/Mèxic will be closed in the coming weeks. Through this debate, we want to raise awareness of the situation of these artists in particular, but without forgetting the underlying conflict: in recent years, autonomous creative spaces have been closed without providing real answers to the cultural needs of the city of Barcelona. What to do? “
The question seems quite pertinent at a time when discontent with cultural policies in Barcelona is crystallizing and organizing in some way, weaving networks between agents and groups who have found a common denominator in this discontent and rejection.

KRAX is a hub for reflection, meeting, and action on citizen involvement and appropriation in the construction of the city. We emphasize the importance, strength, and innovative character of autonomous and urban initiatives, both local and international, to formulate new practices and creative visions in social, cultural, and economic development.
KRAX presents its Urban Creativity Conferences every year, an international meeting between autonomous initiatives creatively fighting the transformation of their city. The KRAX blog and KRAX.CARGO -the virtual archive- offer the information and contacts that are compiled during daily research. KRAX La Gira and KRAX.tv specify the dissemination and exchange of knowledge between all the initiatives in the KRAX network.
Starting in September 2008, we began with the KRAX Sessions: presentations and debates on urban projects, initiatives, and themes that are currently very present and important in the reflection on the city.
