The Seed Library Returns to the Culturopolis Laboratory
15.9.25

We will once again move the Seed Library, which crosses borders from La Florida, to exchange with anyone who wants to contribute seeds and tell us their story (because every seed has a story).

We will open a political cooking space with Conserves Litorals, a political cooking space made up of residents of La Marina, and we will talk about culture, ecologies, and landscape in relation to the exercise of cultural rights with Laia Serra, journalist-farmer and member of Ecologistas en Acción, Guiu Gimeno, artist and mediator, and Oriol Cendra.

To whet your appetite, here you can listen to the program from the previous day, in which we spoke with Núria Fló, director of the Collserola Library – Josep Miracle, where she promotes a seed library, the artist Christina Schultz, and Cecilia Carrillo Navarrete, from the Terralba project, a self-managed garden run by migrant women promoted by Viurenou and Sindillar.

We will link the conversation with a musical exploration of the links between singing and the countryside, between culture, care, and reproduction of life with Ángela Furquet and the Melis Melis duo, formed by Juan Luis Batalla and Marta Torrella (la Tarta de Tarta Relena).

In addition to all this, the mobile unit of the Seed Library designed by David Granizo in collaboration with La Florida se planta will be presented on Wednesday, and Laura González Tinoco has collected the herbs with which we will prepare Wednesday’s refreshment!

The space of the Pati Manning has been adapted for Holon, who have also been in charge of promoting the process of drafting the Barcelona Declaration for cultural rights, on which you will find an exhibition that accompanies and complements the whole movement.

Program:

  • 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM · Seed exchange.
  • 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM · Refreshments with Conserves Litorals.

  • 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM · Performance by Ángela Furquet + Melis Melis.

A meeting to cultivate links, share knowledge, and claim the diversity of seeds—and of the communities that care for them.
