Iker, Iker!
11.12.07

Last Saturday, December 1st, a paranormal phenomenon occurred worthy of Cuarto Milenio but, as far as we know, has gone quite unnoticed around here. It turns out that on that day a round table was organized in which, under the title
New approaches in contemporary cultural policies
, Santiago López-Petit, Santiago Eraso, Rogelio López Cuenca, Miguel Benlloch and Manuel Borja-Villel participated. So far so good, however, things change when we point out that the round table was organized by the Free Experimental University in the social and cultural center of citizen management La Invisible (basically, what many would call without much thought, “a squat”) in Malaga. We wonder (maybe with some degree of demagoguery, yes) what would happen in Barcelona’s cultural life if the director of the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona had planted himself in… let’s say Can Vies, to talk about “contemporary cultural policies”…

We would like to know how the round table went, so if anyone from down there was present and feels like telling us… What we do know is that the Mayor of Malaga, Don Francisco de la Torre, declined the invitation to participate in the table; on the contrary, he tried to “bribe” the speakers by inviting them to hold the debate in a facility owned by the city council… seeing is believing.
