Last summer, we sheared Manolo’s sheep in Sant Feliu, very close to the Llobregat riverbed, and washed the wool in the Les Cabasses irrigation canals.
Now, throughout November, every Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM, accompanied by Tornen les esquelles, we propose to do things with the wool: carding it, felting it, and investigating what applications, what material and aesthetic expressions it can have.
We will do it in the Material Laboratory of Laurel 31, a new community space in La Florida promoted by LaFundició, which already hosts the Economías Silvestres project around textiles, coordinated by Mujeres Palante with the support of La Florida s’aveïna -the urban communality of La Florida-, and La Marmita, a community kitchen integrated into the agroecological consumer cooperative Keras Buti.
Laurel 31 joins the Pomezia space as a communal and neighborhood infrastructure in La Florida from which to promote, sustain, and grow the community networks that make a good life possible for all.
