. Announced with irony as “the greatest cultural event of all time,” the gala will be the most visible moment of a whole week dedicated to shared culture.
The people of EXGAE explain in this didactic and optimistic way what we could understand by “free culture”: The philosophy of free culture, inherited from free software, the greatest empirical demonstration that a new ethic and a new company are possible, has already created an alternative productive space that works and that bets on crafts where the author-producer does not lose control of the production and does not need intermediation of large monopolies, bets on autonomous initiatives in solidarity with others, for the exchange according to the capacities and the possibilities, for the democratization of knowledge, of learning and of the means of production and for the gains distributed in a fair way according to the work.
