11.9.17

Recetario Poster

Next Thursday, September 14th, will be the grand premiere of
Recetario
, an audiovisual and editorial documentary project promoted by the Chilean collective
Diarios de Guerra
, residing in the physical space of LaFundició during these summer months.

Recetario
or
The origin of the saying
where 3 eat, 4 eat is a recipe book in video documentary and fanzine format that brings together recipes shared by neighbors of Bellvitge and the blocks of La Florida, two of the neighborhoods of L’Hospitalet in which we promote community cultural processes and collective creation.

The recipes are part of a popular and free knowledge, not subject to the tyranny of authorship, which can be appropriated and modified by anyone. As is known: each recipe has countless variants, as many as people, communities, places and circumstances condition its preparation. The slow time of cooking lends itself to conversation, and during the recording of the recipes conversations appear about individual life stories and collective accounts. The recipes come, like their cooks, from different parts of the world, and are a constitutive part of diverse cultures, of diverse ways of understanding the provision, preparation and consumption of food, that is, of understanding and sustaining life.

The documentary video and the fanzine that complements it will be presented on Thursday, September 14th at 8:30 p.m. at the chiringuito of the Club d’Esplai Bellvitge during the neighborhood’s main festival.
