What do the blocks sound like? Listening with Ultra-red
10.11.17

blocks listening walk

Listening can be revolutionary. Listening can give rise to different ways of relating to our environment.

Next Monday, November 13, starting at 5 PM, we will take a walk through the blocks of La Florida to listen to their sounds. We will use the map-mola as a guide, which neighbors of the blocks have been laboriously weaving for more than a year. The starting point will be the
Ana Díaz Rico Municipal Center
.

We will be accompanied in the act of listening by Chris Jones, a member of the collective
Ultra-red
, a political-aesthetic project that since 1994! explores the ways in which art can contribute to the processes of political organization, to the construction of relationships that allow us to better analyze our context and undertake strategic actions. Chris is also a founding member of the social center and radical archive
56a Infoshop
in the Elephant & Castle neighborhood on the southern periphery of London, and participates in the action-research group
Southwark Notes
against gentrification in the Southwark area of the same city.
