It’s here, the future is here! On Sunday, September 13 we play the fifth game of
Bellvitge live role-playing
entitled
Bellvitge 2065
You are invited to join us! We meet at 12 h in front of the Hesperia Tower Hotel (Metro L1 Bellvitge).

And what is Bellvitge 2065 about? Well, last April we convened a workshop to think about the script of the scene and imagine the future of the neighborhood and the universe! 😛 The resulting plot can serve both to speculate about the future of Bellvitge, as a parable of our current society:

The Queen Leonor and Google celebrate their marriage in the hermitage of Bellvitge. The consorts are acclaimed by a multitude of tourists —who annually visit the neighborhood by the thousands— and entrepreneurs —former citizens—. A small group of rebels, commoners from the post-neoliberal agroecolumpen colony of  Cal Trabal, intends to boycott the ceremony, a fact that will be opportunely used by Facesanto to incriminate them for the murder of Her Majesty. Meanwhile, the aesthetic improvement brigades try to expel the
entreprehomeless
from the area, while the Lostian brotherhood of 4+8+15+16+23+42 tries to cross the private security cordon to process in front of the hermitage.

The history of Bellvitge is closely linked to the emergence and evolution of the working class as a political subject. That memory powerfully influences the social configuration of Bellvitge —and many other neighborhoods in the urban peripheries with very similar characteristics— even though its current social composition already differs from the archetypal image of the factory proletariat of the mid-twentieth century. What changes in the social composition of the housing estates of the 60s and 70s can we glimpse? What kind of political and cultural agency will its inhabitants have in the future? These are just some very general questions that we can ask ourselves when thinking about the future of Bellvitge, we invite you to join us on the 13th and think by playing (or play by thinking).

In future entries we will offer more information about the characters in the scene. If you are interested in participating, please contact us and we will find a character for you.
