{"id":5983,"date":"2016-11-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-11-23T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lafundicio.net\/noticia\/empezamos-con-el-apano-del-parterre-de-prado-11\/"},"modified":"2016-11-23T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2016-11-23T00:00:00","slug":"empezamos-con-el-apano-del-parterre-de-prado-11","status":"publish","type":"noticia","link":"https:\/\/lafundicio.net\/en\/noticia\/empezamos-con-el-apano-del-parterre-de-prado-11\/","title":{"rendered":"We&#8217;re Starting to Fix up the Flower Bed at Prado 11!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Every Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm<\/strong> with <strong>Raquel Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong> (environmental scientist and urban gardener).<br \/>\nThe urban planning and architecture of <strong>Bellvitge<\/strong> are very characteristic: the result of the real estate boom of the Francoist development and at the same time of the neighborhood struggles of the 70s that kept it at bay.<br \/>\nOne of the most significant spaces in the neighborhood are the small gardens or flower beds located on either side of the doorways of its characteristic apartment blocks. These spaces, of approximately 30 square meters, have the particularity of being managed by the neighborhood communities themselves, who are also their owners, making it a unique case of community space; they are usually decorative gardens cared for by a retired neighbor or by professional gardeners hired by the community itself.<br \/>\nThe apartments at number 11 on <strong>Prat<\/strong> street in Bellvitge\u2014where the <a href=\"https:\/\/lafundicio.net\/espacio-lafundicio\/\"><br \/>\n  <strong>physical space of LaFundici\u00f3<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/a> is located\u2014are the only ones in Bellvitge owned by the City Council, which is one of the reasons why their management and care has been in limbo, resulting in obvious neglect.<br \/>\nFor the past two weeks, we have been working with a group of young people from the Centre Obert del <a href=\"http:\/\/Centre%20Educatiu%20Esclat\"><br \/>\n  <strong>Centre Educatiu Esclat<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/a> to whom we proposed initiating a process of reflection on the uses and management of these spaces. For this, we have the collaboration of Raquel Jim\u00e9nez, an environmental scientist and urban gardener, who has proposed that the group co-design and carry out a series of small interventions in the flower bed.<x id=\"gid_2\"><\/x>This is a process open to the collaboration of all our neighbors and all those interested in urban horticulture, microurbanism, the third landscape, public and common spaces, social practice, DIY, thinking about the city and doing things with your hands.
