Summer is here and with it comes La Sardinada 2<\/strong>, next Saturday, June 30th<\/strong>, starting at<\/strong> 11:30 AM<\/strong> in the
\n U.D. Gornal football field<\/strong>
\n<\/a>. We’re celebrating a second edition of the meeting of former residents of the old neighborhoods of Can Pi<\/strong>, La Bomba<\/strong>, and La Cadena<\/strong>, first held on July 2nd of last year (you can see a small photo report here), which was attended by nearly 100 people. <\/p>\n

Like the previous edition, La Sardinada 2 will be a festive event to reunite for eating, drinking, conversation, and remembering together, but also a space to continue the work that we have been developing for the past three years with a group of residents from these old neighborhoods in the
\n History Workshop<\/strong>
\n<\/a> of the Center for the Interpretation of the City from the Shack<\/strong>. We will be showing part of the photographic archive<\/strong> that has been collected during this time and how it is organized; copies of the CICdB newsletters<\/strong> will be distributed, of which three issues have been published to date (no. 0<\/a>, nos. 1 and 2<\/a>) with life stories of residents of La Bomba; we will continue working on the map<\/strong> of La Bomba; and we will have the microphones of our mobile radio<\/strong> set open. In addition, as a novelty, we will present three new initiatives from the CICdB’s driving group: <\/p>\n

1. The preparation of an exhibition<\/strong> about the shantytowns of Gran Via Sud in the
\n Museu d\u2019Hist\u00f2ria de L\u2019Hospitalet<\/strong>
\n<\/a>, scheduled for the end of the year.
\n2. The project for the future installation<\/strong> of a (functional) water pump<\/strong> on the Gran Via as a monument<\/strong> to the inhabitants of La Bomba.
\n3. The self-construction<\/strong> project of the shack<\/strong>, the future headquarters<\/strong> of the CICdB.<\/p>\n

La Sardinada is an important moment of meeting and exhibition, but only a moment in a long and constant (and very rewarding) work process that has been developing, as we said, during the last three years and to which we frankly encourage you to join.<\/p>\n
