What role did ‘minority’ groups such as gypsies play in this historical period? Did it have any particularity? Was it relevant? How did the forms of social discrimination to which gypsy people have traditionally been subjected influence it? What seems clear is that we lack representations and narratives that help us answer these questions.

On the other hand, we can ask ourselves what was the role of architects in all this matter and how the precepts of rationalism for social housing, quite widespread at that time among the profession, were altered by social and economic processes that surpassed them. The experience of Santiago Cirugeda in the village of <g id="gid_2">
<g id="gid_3">As Rañas</g>
</g>, on the periphery of <g id="gid_4">A Coruña</g>, has many similarities with that of <g id="gid_5">
<g id="gid_6">Pascuala Campos </g>
</g>and <g id="gid_7">
<g id="gid_8">César Portela</g>
</g> in the <g id="gid_9">Poio</g> of <g id="gid_10">Pontevedra</g> that <g id="gid_11">Gypsies Without Ballads</g> shows, although we find a substantial difference in that Cirugeda worked directly with the neighbors in their rehabilitation instead of planning it from his position as ‘expert’. In reality, this way of proceeding can also find a precedent in many neighborhoods such as Bellvitge, where some planning was designed by the neighbors with the collaboration of architects who “went down” to the neighborhoods to contribute their technical knowledge, as explained by the protagonists of
The City is Ours
, a film that we could see in the second session of the cycle.

The film forum cycle The city won, the city lost, is part of the work processes of the project
Espai 14-15
, is linked to the exhibition

Double authorization

by Lola Lasurt in the
Espai 13
of the
Fundació Joan Miró
within the framework of the cycle Preventive archeology curated by Oriol Fontdevila.

["post-5803","noticia","type-noticia","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
