Next week, from July 8 to 11<\/strong>, we will be at the Fundaci\u00f3 Joan Mir\u00f3<\/strong> and surrounding areas, as we are organizing a workshop there with Oriol Fontdevila<\/strong> that aims to address the forms of memory surrounding a phenomenon such as the informal shantytown settlements in Barcelona<\/strong> and more specifically on the mountain of Montju\u00efc<\/strong>, where the Fundaci\u00f3 itself is currently located.<\/p>\n

The workshop is part of a “summer school” linked to the exhibition cycle Preventive<\/em> archeology<\/em><\/strong> and is part of an international symposium entitled 
\n Amnesia<\/strong>
\n<\/em> Col\u00b7lectiva<\/strong>. This symposium is a proposal by Oriol Fontdevila<\/strong> and aims to create a space for reflection on the intersections that currently occur between historiographical and artistic practice regarding collective forms of commemoration and oblivion. Hence, our workshop revolves around a phenomenon such as shantytowns, which official accounts of the city’s history have sought to forget, but which arose precisely from the construction of that showcase that was and is the Montju\u00efc mountain, a double movement whereby the official narrative and memory are built on the forgetting of subaltern narratives, which we can apply in many cases to the entire city of Barcelona. <\/p>\n

Already during the inauguration of
\n
\n Espai 14-15<\/strong>
\n <\/em>
\n<\/a>, the project with which we participated in the Preventive Archeology<\/em> cycle of the Espai 13<\/strong> of the Fundaci\u00f3 Joan Mir\u00f3, we made a first approach to the theme of shantytowns during the walk we organized from Montju\u00efc to Bellvitge<\/strong>, and whose sound recording you can listen to, summarized, here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the workshop we will have the collaboration of, among others, Centre d\u2019Estudis de Montju\u00efc<\/strong>, L\u00faa Coderch<\/strong>, Antonio Gagliano<\/strong>, Valeria Giacomoni<\/strong>, Can Clos pel Canvi<\/strong>, Emili Su\u00e1rez<\/strong>, Oriol Granados<\/strong>, Imma Jansana<\/strong>, Lola Lasurt<\/strong>, Taller de ficci\u00f3<\/strong> or <\/strong>Merc\u00e8 Tatjer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
