{"id":5647,"date":"2008-12-20T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2008-12-20T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lafundicio.net\/noticia\/esta-es-una-plaza\/"},"modified":"2008-12-20T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2008-12-20T00:00:00","slug":"esta-es-una-plaza","status":"publish","type":"noticia","link":"https:\/\/lafundicio.net\/en\/noticia\/esta-es-una-plaza\/","title":{"rendered":"This is a Plaza"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">An image of the plaza&#8217;s inauguration taken by <strong><br \/>\n  <a href=\"http:\/\/albertodepedro.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alberto de Pedro<\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Earlier this December, a group of people from areas such as architecture, art, design, biology, and the environment, with a shared interest in reusing abandoned public spaces, met at the <strong><br \/>\n  <em><br \/>\n    <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lacasaencendida.es\/LCE\/lceCruce\/0,0,73537_0_73580_10511%24P1%3D16,00.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Urbanacci\u00f3n 2<\/a><br \/>\n  <\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong> urban intervention workshop organized by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lacasaencendida.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n  <strong>La Casa Encendida<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/a> and led by the <strong><br \/>\n  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esterni.org\/ita\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Esterni<\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong> collective. From that meeting came the idea of recovering an abandoned space, and the <strong>Municipal District Board<\/strong> offered the possibility of doing so on an abandoned lot located at <strong>Doctor Fourquet 24<\/strong> street, in the <strong>Lavapi\u00e9s<\/strong> neighborhood, <strong>Madrid<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">After preliminary work exploring the neighborhood to identify preferences and needs, a garden, a sports area (soccer field, petanque, and badminton), a market (barter and time bank), and an open-air theater were set up in collaboration with the residents themselves, in addition to the paths, green areas, and rest areas that every park worthy of the name should have.
