Last year, the report

\n In Barcelona, participation sings!<\/a>
\n <\/em>
\n<\/strong> was presented, a collective work that aimed to “be a tool to give meaning to the word participation, from our own experience and the assessment of neighborhood mobilization, as well as to help refute the manipulation behind the “participatory” propaganda launched by public and economic powers for speculative purposes”<\/em> in different neighborhoods of Barcelona<\/strong>.<\/em> <\/p>\n

Indeed, ‘participation’ is one of the current wildcard-fetishes of the public administration, however participatory processes, especially in the cultural field, often tend, in a more or less disguised way, to orchestration, and rarely develop as processes in which citizens\/participants have effective decision-making power, that is, in which there is a genuine redistribution of power.<\/p>\n

This coming Saturday, January 17<\/strong>, a drift-tour has been organized by bike or on foot through some spaces and places in Barcelona with the desire to “understand where the city is going and build a network with grassroots neighborhood initiatives and proposals<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

an open participatory process of drift, visualization and mobilization
\nto understand where our city is going
\nand build a network with grassroots neighborhood initiatives and proposals.<\/p>\n

urban culture means the game we play together in the city and we,
\nsince the proposed game does not satisfy us,
\nwe question the rules imposed to define new ones
\nso that we can fit in and master the new game that is proposed to us.<\/p>\n

we have chosen to play in another way and we let it be known.
\ntogether we want to spend some time playing \/ touring the neighborhood \/ claiming…
\nand launching the idea of what it is for us to participate,
\nin the construction of the neighborhood and in the power of self-management of our daily lives.<\/p>\n

collectively build a symbolic action through urban drift.
\nknowledge is not static. it arises from exchange. there is no object of study.
\nwe are subjects who participate in knowledge from action
\nand from a work of collective reflection and action for the community. <\/p>\n
